教学内容
Fun Time
1.这个故事讲的是小丑带着马戏团的一只大象去动物园,在街上碰见了Lily和Bill,他们与大象结成为好朋友。大象在过马路时,从街对面过来一个推着自行车的行人,自行车上带着一些香蕉,该行人与大象打过招呼后就过了马路。这时大象突然停在马路当中不走了,小丑、Lily和Bill使劲推它,它不动,警察也过来帮助,它还是不动。这时街对面的交通灯变成了绿色的,大象挡住了所有南来北往的车辆。怎么办?Bill想出了一个好主意,把大象引过了马路。是什么主意呢?请同学猜一猜。(答案:用香蕉引大象过马路。)
2.同学通过学习故事,复习本单元的交际用语:Where are you going?
3.通过本故事的学习,培养同学运用所学知识观察和判断的能力。如:观察故事中交通灯的变化(可以用到在第28课中学到的有关交通灯的知识),大象为什么停在马路中间不走了(懂得大象的生活习性)等。
4.故事中新的语言项目是:Why are you stopping here? Move, elephant.Let's go together.
5.本局部学习内容的难点是:move单词的读音和move单词中字母v的读音。

教学建议
1.教师出示教学挂图或让同学看课本,建议将同学分成小组,以组为单位对故事图画进行观察,并根据图讨论故事大意。(这样做的好处是能够协助学习能力弱的同学积极参与课堂学习活动。)
2.让同学用中文说一说对故事的理解。
3.教师指教学挂图,用同学易接受的英文和形体动作,整体介绍故事内容。目前,同学对英语已经有了一些感性认识,教师在整体介绍故事内容时,应注意与同学进行交流,协助同学运用学过的语言,以培养同学主动参与语言实践活动的意识(参考课堂操作语言建议)。
4.教师让同学看教学挂图、听录音,并根据录音内容试着指出相应的图。
5.同学看教学挂图,根据录音重复语句,教师应鼓励能够重复录音中句子的同学。
6.让同学多听几遍录音,在理解的基础上,重复听到的句子(建议目前仍不限制同学具体能说哪一句话),在重复的同时同学可以根据自身的理解做出相应的动作。
7.假如每一幅图的语言都已经有同学会说,就可以进行角色扮演。
8.角色扮演时应在教室里安排场景,并准备故事中需要的道具。
9.为了使每个同学都参与活动,角色扮演时应采取group work的形式,并给每个小朋友适当的褒扬。
