Ⅰ. Teaching aims :
1. (1)Learn the new words about seasons and weather:
season, spring, summer, fall, winter ,weather, warm, hot, cold
(2)Learn other new words:
rain, snow, ground
2. Learn how to describe the weather.
What’s the weather like in spring? It’s warm.
How is the weather in fall? It’s cool.
When it snows, the ground is all white and I can make snowmen.
3. Learn to use superlative forms to express preference about seasons.
Which season do you like best, spring, summer, fall or winter?
I liked winter before, but now I like summer best.
Ⅱ. Important and difficult points
    让学生熟练掌握及运用本课描述天气及季节的词、句型谈论对季节的喜好。

Step 1 Lead- in
1. 教师与学生谈论今天天气,情景交际导入新课。
   教师活动:How are you today? I feel very hot. What about you?
          What do you like to do?

    学生活动:自由回答老师的问题
Step 2 Presentation
1. Present1a
Show pictures and learn new words. (Ask and answer between T and Ss)
T:  Summer is a second season of the year.
   教师呈现season 单词,让学生说出season单词的意思。
What is the weather like in summer?
教师呈现句型:What is the weather like in summer?
How is the weather in summer?



  (1). 教师活动: Show a picture and ask:
              What do you like doing?
              教师呈现It is a good time (season) to do…
                       It is a good season for doing …
学生活动:自由回答或逐个回答。
(2)教师利用课本1a的图片进行投影,用同样的方法呈现summer, fall, winter…然后教师带读,让学生识读单词。)
2. Consolidation
   1)教师活动 Get the students to describe the pictures.
     学生活动:分组抢答   
2)教师活动:Get Students to listen to1a and match the seasons with the weather and activities.

学生活动:学生看课本听录音,找出课本中的答案并画出。

Step 4  Practice(Pair work 3b) 教师活动:Get the students to work in pairs. Make dialogues according to 3b. 学生活动:学生以两人为一组,进行对话练习。Step 5  Project (Homework) (调查你的朋友最喜爱的季节和在这个季节最喜爱的活动,制成一张表格, 然后依据表格写一篇小短文。)
